Cool in a way but will ultimately bring down the wrath of homo sapiens the killer ape...vigilante safari posses with harpoon drones...orca won't stand a chance. Maybe they are kamikaze suicide troops who can see what's coming...invisible to us until 2 seconds before impact.
I have the same worries. Kill the messenger is always the easy way out.

My
default thinking is that they know what is going on and the attacks are
measured and calculated to send a message that human activities are
killing them. Maybe the sinking is an escalation or maybe they didn't
intend to sink the boats. 200 have been rammed or disabled and only 3
sank so far.

I don't think I'd want to find out, but I do think they are very specific about disabling boats but not harming people.

Here I go with a theory.
It’s based on the theory of symbolic interaction, which is the
fundamental process underlying human social dynamics and construction of
cultural institutions and traditions. The same seems to be the case for
orcas, using learned vocal signals to mediate cultural behavior. So
they’re capable of expressing messages. Of course they can’t use human
languages and we can’t decipher orca languages, so when pressed and
stressed into desperate conditions they may resort to blunt, crude
attempts to focus our attention on their plight. Iberian orcas have seen
their prey decimated while they were attacked physically if they came
near fishing vessels, according to media reports. Their numbers are a
small fraction of previous generations. Theoretically some of the
current survivors may have chosen to systematically disable pleasure
boats as a way of reflecting their desperation. As Tilikum demonstrated
his extreme frustration in his calm, calculated but lethal behavior,
it’s meant as a symbolic signal. Otherwise it’s inexplicable. But humans
are not likely to get it.
